ABOUT
International Design Day has been celebrated since 1995, and April 27 was not chosen by chance - on this day in 1963, the International Council of Design ( ICoD ) was established.
The purpose of this day is to draw attention to the value created by design and its significant role in contributing to change. Design Day challenges designers around the world to take greater account of the surrounding, local environment and communities and to find innovative ways to respond to needs, break stereotypes, and foster diversity, using design as a driving force. Each year, the International Design Council raises a different topic that is relevant at the time.
The Lithuanian Design Association (formerly the Lithuanian Graphic Design Association) is an independent creative union uniting professional design creators.
Founded in 1996, the Association cares about the prestige of the design profession, represents the interests of designers in government institutions, promotes the creative activity of designers, and coordinates the activities of various organizations participating in the design process.
